Our partnership with Wits University has led to the development of the Peco PowerBrick, an advanced household solar battery technology designed for reliable off-grid power. In 2019, we partnered with Wits University to establish Peco Power, aiming to commercialise and industrialise innovative renewable energy technologies developed at Wits University's Electrical and Information Engineering Department. Peco Power focuses on providing affordable, sustainable off-grid power solutions for low-income housing, integrating solar panels and battery systems based on proprietary technology from Wits University. Their flagship product, the PowerBrick™, is a modular, expandable solar-powered energy solution designed to improve access to electricity in under-served communities.
Peco Power has also introduced a Rent-to-Own Electricity and Champion Model, empowering local agents to facilitate the adoption of these solutions, thereby enhancing energy access and fostering economic opportunities within communities.
This collaboration underscores our excitement around technology commercialisation and our commitment to sustainable development and social impact through innovative energy solutions.
